Subcutaneous is a series of hooped embroideries on remnant cosmetic facial skin peel. The text and images allude to a culturally inherited ambivalence towards the body and towards our biotechnological potential to manipulate it. One embroidery depicts 46 sets of chromosomes (a set of 23 from each biological donor). Another embroidery references an Albert Einstein quote: "A perfection of means and confusion of aims seems to be our main problem".
